grew up in Québec City. She immigrated to Canada at the age of 8 , which gave her the unique opportunity to grow up between two cultures: Colombian and Québécois. This cultural duality undoubtedly fueled her fascination with human complexity. From a young age, she dedicated herself to portraiture, driven by a desire to convey emotion. Visual art has always been part of her life: she spent her time drawing, painting, and sculpting. Today, continues to draw inspiration from the intricacies of the human experience, an interest she also deepens through her work as a psychoeducator.

To become a psychoeducator, had to put painting and drawing aside for a while. She went on to complete two university certificates (in psychology and sexology), followed by a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in psychoeducation. Although she remains deeply passionate about therapeutic work, at the end of her studies, she was forced to admit that it was not enough — something was missing : ART.

In 2023, she reconnected with her artistic talent and began to see how deeply her academic background positively shaped her creative process. By 2024, her artistic impulses led her to combine embroidery thread, birch wood, and cotton canvas. This blend of materials helped her discover her unique artistic identity, ultimately inspiring her to officially launch her career as a professional visual artist.

LE STYLE DE

's artworks stand out through the integration of embroidery thread and a refusal to be confined by the canvas. Her paintings are known for their deep inspiration drawn from human psychology and for their uniqueness. For her, each piece is an opportunity to push the artistic boundaries of portraiture in order to convey a message to the viewer.

As you can see, has a strong preference for rounded forms. Through her paintings, she enjoys playing with transparency, sometimes creating openings that allow the wall behind the work to show through — creating a sense of lightness and openness.

When working with cotton canvas, she may cut, sew, magnetize, or glue it. On wood, she saws, drills, and stitches. This process allows the canvas to go beyond being a simple surface or constraint, and instead become a malleable material that supports the artistic process. Her creations are thus marked by layering, reconstruction, and the recurring presence of embroidery thread.

L'histoire de

SoGo a grandi à Québec et fait maintenant sa vie au Lac St-Jean. Elle a immigré au Québec à l'âge de 8 ans, ce qui lui a donné la chance de grandir entre deux cultures : la culture colombienne et la culture québécoise. Ce contexte a certainement nourri sa fascination pour la complexité humaine, car dès son jeune âge, elle s'est dédiée aux portraits avec l'objectif de véhiculer une émotion. Les arts visuels ont toujours fait partie de sa vie : elle passait son temps à dessiner, peindre et sculpter. Aujourd'hui, SoGo continue de puiser son inspiration dans la complexité humaine, un aspect qu’elle approfondit également à travers sa profession de psychoéducatrice.

En effet, à travers trop peu de peinture et de dessin, SoGo a complété deux certificats universitaires (en psychologie et sexologie), suivis de sa formation en psychoéducation (baccalauréat et maîtrise). Cependant, bien que l’intervention la passionne énormément, elle a été forcée de constater, à la fin de ses études, qu'il lui manque quelque chose : l'Art.

Ainsi, elle reconnecte en 2023 avec son talent artistique et constate l'influence positive de parcours scolaire sur sa démarche artistique. En 2024, ses élans créatifs l’amènent à associer fils à broder, bois de merisier et toile de coton. Ce mariage de matériaux lui permet de trouver son identité artistique, ce qui l'incite par la suite à se lancer officiellement dans son projet d’artiste peintre professionnelle.

LE STYLE DE

Les œuvres signées SoGo se distinguent par l'intégration de fils à broder et par leur refus de se limiter au sens traditionnel du canevas. Ses tableaux sont connues pour avoir du mouvement et de la profondeur. Pour elle, chaque œuvre est une occasion de repousser les limites conventionnelles dans le but de véhiculer un message au spectateur.

SoGo exprime une préférence marquée pour les formes rondes. Elle joue avec la transparence, laissant parfois apparaître le mur derrière l’œuvre, créant ainsi une impression de légèreté et d’ouverture.

Lorsqu’elle travaille sur une toile de coton, celle-ci peut être coupée, cousue, aimantée ou collée. Sur bois, elle scie, perce et coud. Ce processus permet au canevas de ne plus être qu’une simple surface, ou une contrainte, et de plutôt devenir une matière malléable qui sert de support à la démarche artistique.

Ses créations sont ainsi marqué par des superpositions, des reconstructions et la récurrence des fils à broder. Son inspiration vient de la psychologie humaine ce qui fait de l’art signée SoGo une expérience à la fois sensorielle, émotionnelle et intellectuelle.
